I’ll start out by saying that I’ve massively condensed by wardrobe over the last few months, partly because of the whole capsule wardrobe thing that’s having a moment right now and partly because I just moved into a flat with very, very, very limited storage space.
My knitwear collection made the cut though along with my excessive pyjama and loungewear collection, so here it is.
Warning: contains little to no colour (obviously)!
The striped one
I pondered over this striped number from Whistles for the longest time. I love that it’s more black than white and I’m a sucker for a high neck but I couldn’t quite bring myself to pay the hefty price tag that so often comes with Whistles purchases… until I saw it on sale in my size and never looked back. It’s fitted and cropped which isn’t usually my style when it comes to knitwear but I quite like it, it’s a little more feminine.
The & Other Stories staple
I’m a frequent browser of the & Other Stories website but I always find sizing and material difficult to judge online which is why I made this purchase in person at their Oxford store. The faithful black Zara jumper I’d worn until it was unacceptably faded had finally given up on me so I was on the lookout for a staple to replace it and I couldn’t be happier with this one – it’s just so snuggly!
The cashmere one
I’ve really been trying to invest in more good quality pieces less often and this is one of them. It was just under £100 if I remember correctly which isn’t actually too bad when it comes to cashmere and it really is the softest jumper I own.
On the opposite end of the scale is this Primark number. This must have been in my wardrobe for a good 5 or 6 years now and cost me just £13! It’s a refreshing change to the otherwise black and grey knitwear I own, is probably the warmest of them all and is still one of my favourite items to wear by far.
The black version of the bargain
The trouble with the Primark one is that I wish it came in more colours. Enter this UNIQLO jumper I stumbled upon last year. It’s more formal than its green counterpart (or at least that’s how I justify buying it to myself) and a little less ‘fluffy’ in texture but otherwise, it’s almost identical.
The one that’s too big
I actually have this in 2 colours, this and a minky colour I snapped up in the sale for £5! I’ll admit that these are the least worn of the collection. I’m a big fan of the baggy jumper and legging look but these are just a little too baggy. They’re ideal for loungewear though so I can’t quite bring myself to part with them just yet.
