February is a little too late to be making New Year’s Resolutions so I thought I’d cheat and call them my plans for the year instead.
Make my own skincare
I’ve had problematic skin for as long as I can remember (chin spots, I’m talking to you) so I try and keep things quite simple when it comes to my skincare. Coconut oil is my go-to for everything from makeup removal to moisturising and I really enjoy using something I know is completely natural but it’s a little too heavy for everyday use, especially under makeup. That’s why 2018 is the year I’ve got plans to make my own, natural day cream. Wish me luck and watch this space!
Blood does not bother me at all. I must be one of the least squeamish people alive and probably would have made a great doctor if I wasn’t dreadful at biology so I’m really not sure why I haven’t given blood before now. Better late than never though I suppose.
Go back to Spanish class
This one I’ve already made a start on. I’ve been back at my Spanish conversation class for a couple of weeks now and it’s something I’d really like to stick to this year. A big break before Christmas means I’ve forgotten so much of it but I’m determined not the let the 10 years I’ve spent learning it so far go to waste!
Keep going to the gym
I debated about including this one because I really don’t want to be one of those people who go on and on about the fact that they go to the gym but, you know what, I’m proud of myself and my fitness efforts this year so I’m going to give myself a public pat on the back in the hope that it motivates me to keep going.
Put myself out there
I’ve been extremely lucky with my freelance career so far in that, thanks to various, very talented friends of mine, I’ve had a pretty consistent stream of work sent my way since I first started in August. I know that I need to put myself out there in 2018 though, grow some balls, have some self-belief and approach the people and businesses I really want to work with moving forward.
Oslo and Croatia are already on the cards this year and I’d definitely like to squeeze in another break if I can. I don’t know what it is but a snowy, winter holiday is really appealing to me right now and I’ve never been on one so maybe 2018 will be the year I do.
Another plan I’ve actually already made a start on. I’m breaking myself in gently, Wednesdays are my designated day of the week to cook, and I’ve had a few disasters already so far but I’m hoping by this time next year, I’ll have more than chicken Kiev, fajitas and spaghetti bolognese in my repertoire.
Put down my phone
She says, phone in hand. It’s something I find super difficult, especially when the digital world is such a huge part of growing your business but I’d at least like to cut down on my screen time.
Do you have any plans for 2018?
